Ingredients
- 200g Cibo Di Italia Gluten-Free Pasta (Penne or similar)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato purée or crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried oregano or mixed Italian herbs
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil leaves (optional)
- Grated parmesan or plant-based alternative (optional)
Method
- Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Cook the Cibo Di Italia gluten-free pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside. - Prepare the Sauce
Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add chopped onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. - Build the Flavor
Add tomato purée, chili flakes, black pepper, herbs, and salt.
Simmer on low heat for 8–10 minutes until the sauce thickens and flavors develop. - Combine
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss gently to coat evenly.
Cook for another 2–3 minutes so the pasta absorbs the sauce. - Serve
Garnish with fresh basil and grated cheese if desired.
Serve hot with a side salad or garlic bread.
